EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP
Brian Egwele is the founder and Managing Partner of Egwele & Company. He began his investment banking career with Salomon Smith Barney (a predecessor to Citigroup). Prior to founding Egwele & Company, Brian was Co-Head of the Automotive and Industrials Group at Sagent Advisors LLC, a leading middle market investment bank.
Brian has advised clients on a variety of complex transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, minority investments, equity and debt financings, recapitalizations, Ch. 11 bankruptcy and out-of-court restructurings. He has advised clients across a range of industries including industrial manufacturing, business services and consumer products, among others.
Over the past two decades, Brian and his deal teams have advised on more than 50 mergers and acquisitions with an aggregate transaction value over $40 billion and completed more than 30 financings that raised over $15 billion of capital.
Brian is actively involved with various advisory boards and nonprofit organizations. He is a member of the Business School Council at Tulane University's A.B. Freeman School of Business, where he advises the Dean on matters of business school policies, strategies, programs and goals. He is also an Innovator-In-Residence at the Albert Lepage Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Freeman School, where he mentors student ventures, local entrepreneurs and small business owners. He serves as Treasurer of Uniting Voices Chicago and is also a board member of the Lincoln Park Zoo , the Big Shoulders Fund and the VNA Foundation. He is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago and the Business Leadership Council of Chicago.
Crain's Chicago Business has recognized Brian as a Notable Leader in Finance and a Notable Executive of Color in Finance for his professional accomplishments, mentorship and civic and philanthropic contributions in the Chicago area.
Brian graduated summa cum laude from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University with a Bachelor of Science in Management and major in Finance. He is a licensed General Securities Principal and Introducing Broker-Dealer Financial Operations Principal with Egwele Securities LLC, Member FINRA/SIPC. He maintains FINRA licenses Series 7, 24, 28, 63 and 79TO.
